The aquarium in Osaka

I agree with Jason that we had a great time at the aquarium in Osaka. Here are a few of my pictures.

The "king" whale shark with his entourage of small fish always looked like a rock star, with the paparazzi casting a glow around him wherever he went.

The loggerhead sea turtle was really big!

The giant spider crabs were scary, reminding us of something out of a sci-fi movie. I heard Michele say that they looked like the aliens from "War of the Worlds."

Outside of the aquarium, Jan and I walked along the waterway. There were barges and ships passing by. Jan says it reminds him a bit of Norway, where there are many fjords as well. Osaka is a port town, and there are bridges everywhere crossing the inlets and channels. This bridge's design is especially recognizable.
