Natto again!

.....

Someone told Jan about natto, so he tried it. It's a sticky fermented soy bean mess that leaves thin spider web tendrils hanging from your lips when you try to eat it. The Japanese love it, and it's always a challenge each year to see who will be brave enough to try it.

Brian also got into the act. Although they both finished it off, Jan said it was like it had already been partially digested. Basically, it tasted like it had been previously digested. In this picture, Brian is still eating while Jan tried to wash away his experience with orange juice. They both agreed that once was enough.

  1. I was wondering if Brian would make it or be stopped by some "crisis" at work.

Just out of curiosity, how expensive is nato? when I was paying the bill he always got the most expensive items!

  2. Hi, Mike! The nato was available in our hotel's all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet, so I have no idea how much it would cost individually. It was a little cup of about 4 ounces, of which Jan confirms was 3.5 ounces too much.
